Eliza Delf & The Wilderness have released their much-anticipated new album Feast. Ten memorable songs that showcase the remarkable songwriting and mesmerising vocals of Eliza Delf, and the virtuosic and carefully crafted arrangements of the band featuring Jacob Browne (guitar and bass), Eva Wright (cello), and Tim Skinner (drums and percussion).
Eliza Delf & The Wilderness continue to revel in their unique musical alchemy that draws on the untamed energy of alt-indie, the dark textures of gothic folk noir, and the imaginative flair of progressive art rock.
From the opening bars of Look At Me to the closing crescendo of Threshold, listeners are treated to sophisticated soundscapes, extraordinary singing, and captivating instrumentation. Plucked arpeggios on the guitar, dramatic flourishes on the cello, dynamic embellishments on percussion – each song is cloaked in its own musical personality whilst retaining a sense of being part of a wider story.
The album moves seamlessly from the hushed, haunting, and emotionally raw landscapes of Common Law, Sweet Somethings, and Barefoot In The Ashes, to the wildly anthemic choruses of Look At Me, Uncanny, Don’t Love Me Lightly, and Threshold – via the jaunty light-heartedness of Twine, and the beguiling carnivalesque rhythms of Merry-Go-Round and The Trick.
This is a band that is determinedly non-conformist – confidently following its own musical path, and gaining a rapidly growing audience as they go.
